Nick Lauga (he/his) changed the status quo. Nick executed on the simplified yet effective solutions to complex processes when many thought it was impossible to do so. Nick is running for Vancouver council because he will use his 20 years of running his government consultancy business to make Vancouver affordable, equitable and carbon neutral.
Nick spent most of his life in Vancouver where he met the love of his life, Miriam, who emigrated from Mexico. In 2021, Miriam and Nick were thrilled to have welcomed their beautiful baby boy to their growing family. Nick has a BA Honours in Economics and BSc in Computer Science both from Queens University.
Vote for Nick 1st because he will leverage the frustrations of voters surrounding permits and housing. Nick will say, "I effected real change within governmental organizations by solving complex approval processes that couldn't be fixed internally for years or decades"

It's the end of your first term (on Council, SB, PB). What three achievements are you most proud of?
1) New affordable housing is now the norm and no longer the exception.
2) 10,000 social and supportive housing units are approved each year.
3) The COV can hire and fire the VPD board. VPD is accountable to the COV and marginalized voices.
