Dan (he/him) is a young, queer lawyer from the West End. As someone who lives with chronic mental health challenges, Dan is running to make Vancouver a more equitable community. Dan brings the necessary passion, legal skillset, & experience in grassroots organizing to implement intersectional, equitable policies on City Council.

An activist at heart, and a mediator by disposition, Dan went into law to advocate for the marginalized and to learn how to change the ‘systems.’

Dan believes we need to ‘GO BIG & COME HOME’ to tackle the crises we face:

1. More Housing Everywhere
• Implement a Land Value Tax (to better capture unearned land lift) & use that to fund Indigenous-led housing initiatives, more social housing, mixed-income developments, co-ops, co-housing, etc. in all parts of our city.
2. Safe Supply
• We need to save lives by expanding safe supply.
3. De-task police
• Fund peer-led non-violent mental health teams for support & wellness checks (without police presence)
4. 15-minute city
• Zone for more amenities in all neighbourhoods to reduce trips & help decarbonize Vancouver.
• Mobility pricing is another strategy; it should factor in a progressive scale that considers ability to pay and prioritizes accessibility needs as well.
